TAX TO REPAIR SCHOOL

At a meeting of the citizens of Melissa held there Friday night it was decided to order an election for the purpose of voting an additional 20 cents tax on the $100 valuation for repairing the brick school building which was badly wrecked by the cyclone. The election it was reported would be ordered sometime today. It is said that with this tax the cost of repairing the school building could be paid in four years time. The citizens of Melissa are doers, despite the great loss inflicted upon their little city, they have their faces to the future and are going right ahead planning for rebuilding the town. The large tabernacle, which was badly damaged by the cyclone, is being repaired, and it is the aim now to resume school under it again Monday. There are six weeks more of the present term remaining and the remainder of the term will be taught under the tabernacle.
