Simon Taylor, living a short distance east of Melissa, whose home was badly damaged in the cyclone, was here today, Mr. Taylor said the people of McKinney, Collin County and Texas were responding nobly to the relief of the citizens of the storm swept town. Mr. Taylor saw the cyclone approaching his home. He got his family taking his sick wife from her bed and ran down in the pasture and sought a place of safety in a ravine. He said house tops, timbers, livestock and everything imaginable sailed in the storm over their heads. Trees were blown down within a few feet of them, but luckily they escaped injury. He said the cyclone was sweeping a scope of country about one half a mile wide and circled in the vicinity four times, the forth time coming very near his family.
