TRAVELING SALESMAN'S EXPERIENCE

"The cyclone at Melissa was my first experience with a cyclone," said Frank Cass of Kansas City yesterday, "I hope it will be my last. I was in the town on business, and was standing on the Main Street when the storm hit town. I started to run as I had heard it said often that you could outrun a cyclone. I was once considered fairly fast on my feet and I was inspired in this flight, but I had only cleared a few hundred feet when I was picked up and slammed down so hard that it knocked me breathless. I lay there expecting to be killed at any moment, as the debris was raining all around me, One big scantling barely cleared my head but cleared it nevertheless, and somehow I got through a little the worse for wear but all in one piece."
